Overview
A week in Norway designed for women who want to try Snowboarding for the first time or that want to improve their skills, spend time in nature, and connect with like minded people. We'll be situated in Strandafjellet, sitting above one of Norway’s most iconic fjord landscapes, with views stretching out over deep blue water of Geirangefjord. You’ll fly into the coastal town of Ålesund, before heading into the mountains where you’re surrounded by peaks and have the time to ground and immerse in your surroundings. Wide open runs, fresh mountain air, and scenery that feels completely different to anywhere else you’ve probably ridden. More importantly, it gives you space. Space to ride without crowds, to focus on your progression, and to settle into the week at your own pace, whether that’s building confidence on your board or pushing yourself a bit further. This is a small group tour. Most travel solo (although with a friend is also welcome). We make it easy for you to settle in, get to know each other, and feel comfortable quickly. There’s no pressure to be anything other than where you’re at. We stay together in a private chalet, with everything taken care of. Meals are cooked by our incredible in-house chef, so there’s time to properly switch off after a day on the mountain, whether that’s chatting over dinner, having a quiet moment, or a few drinks and social. Away from the slopes, you have the opportunity to join a snowshoe experience to see the northern lights and take a boat tour through Geirengefjords, a once in a lifetime experience. Optional movement and meditation sessions are there if you want them, but nothing is over-structured. Our tours are there to be experienced however you wish to experience them. Your tour, your choice! It’s about stepping out of your usual routine, building confidence in a new environment, and spending time with women who are doing the same. We advise that all attendees have the basic lessons in stopping, control and turns before attending. This is so you can get the absolute most out of your time on the mountains and the runs available to you whilst you're there. Your destination airport is Ålesund Airport, Vigra (AES). Please plan to arrive before 5pm on the first day and depart after 1pm on the final day for transfers. But as with all trips, hold off booking flights until we confirm. We’ll send everything you need when it’s ready.

FAQs
When should I book my flights?
We’ll let you know as soon as the tour is officially confirmed. Once you receive our confirmation email with final details, you can go ahead and book your flights with confidence.
What does “unconfirmed trip” mean?
Your tour will be officially confirmed once we reach the minimum number of guests required for it to go ahead. As soon as that happens, we’ll email you with all the final details. We kindly ask that you wait to book your flights until you receive this confirmation email, just in case there are any adjustments to transfer times or important preparation information.
What airport should I fly to?
You’ll fly into Ålesund Vigra Airport (AES), which is the closest and most convenient airport for our group transfer.
What time do I need to arrive?
For this tour, we ask guests to arrive before 5 pm on the first day of the retreat to have access to the group transfer. As stated above, please don’t book your flight until your tour is confirmed, in case transfer times change. We will notify you in due course.
Some guests like to book some solo time to explore in Alesund before or after the retreat dates. In this case, we can arrange a pick up en route to or from the chalet.
What time is departure on the last day?
Checkout is at 10 am. We ask that you book flights after 1.30 pm to have access to the departure transfer. If you have days booked in Ålesund after the retreat dates, we can drop you off en route.
As mentioned. Please don’t book your flight until the tour is confirmed, in case there are any changes we need you to be aware of regarding transfers.
How far is the accommodation from the airport?
The journey takes around 1.5 hours and includes a scenic drive plus a short ferry ride. It’s a beautiful introduction to the Norwegian fjords.
Are there other transport options?
Yes. You’re welcome to rent a car or arrange a private transfer if your flight times differ. The group transfer is included and designed to be the easiest option.
Where are the chalet and ski centre located?
We stay at Strandafjellet in western Norway. The chalet is ski-in, ski-out and located right by the ski centre, so you’re on the slopes within minutes.
Can I book a private room?
Yes. Private rooms are available at an additional cost and are limited. Shared rooms are also available and are a great way to connect with other women on the tour.
Is ski or snowboard equipment included?
We offer the option to add full equipment hire to your booking for convenience. You’re also very welcome to arrange rentals directly if you prefer. If you need specific equipment or only certain items, you can contact Strandafjellet Ski Centre directly to organise this at strandafjellet.no. We’re happy to guide you either way to make sure you’re fully prepared.
What do I need to bring?
Warm winter layers, waterproof outerwear, thermal base layers, gloves, beanie, ski socks, and sturdy winter boots. After booking, you’ll receive a detailed packing guide to help you prepare.
What’s in the area?
Strandafjellet is surrounded by fjords and mountains, offering incredible scenery and a peaceful winter setting. We intentionally choose destinations that are unique and away from tourist crowds, so this area feels slightly secluded while still being incredibly beautiful.
There are optional add-on activities available if you’d like to enhance your experience. If you’re planning to explore Ålesund, the nearby port town known for its Art Nouveau architecture and coastal views, we recommend doing this before or after the retreat so you can fully enjoy your ski and snowboard time in the mountains without feeling rushed.
