Canyoning in Coniston

An all Women's experience, exploring the hidden waterfalls and gorges of the Lake District.



This weekend away promises to be one to remember, in a picturesque part of the UK, we'll come together and and enjoy a day out in the outdoors with the option to hike and enjoy some evening yoga before we head to our camping pods for an early evening catch up around a firepit where we'll prepare for a fun packed Sunday morning canyoning through some of the Lake districts many waterfalls, pools and gorges.


Heres a guide to your weekend with us...





We'll meet at our pre-arranged meeting spot in the Lakes for an optional lunch before heading on an afternoon hike across one of the many beautiful trails. 


Saturday Evening

We'll head out for an optional evening meal or you'll have the opportunity to cook in the shared kitchen facilities at our accommodation. We'll take the opportunity to stretch out with some light yoga and as the evening draws in comes in we will light a campfire and relax into the star lit night. 


Sunday Morning

After breakfast we'll be heading straight to our meeting point to get ready for our morning canyoning! Our guides will be waiting to in struct us and take us on a journey through Conistons waterfalls and gorges. We'll finish up and head for a round-up drink or lunch for those wanting to stay before we say our goodbyes (until the next adventure).

Please bring comfortable clothing for yoga and hiking, swimwear for under your wetsuit whilst canyoning, a water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, personal yoga mat, and any personal medication. We also recommend a hat and sunglasses for protection against the sun. Appropriate trainers or boots for hiking.

Absolutely! It's encouraged. Our events are designed to accommodate all skill levels, from beginners to advanced participants. We have experienced instructors who will provide personalised guidance to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. However, there are some safety  caviats to the Canyoning, Maximum waist size must be 120cm and maximum chest size of 150cm. They have wetsuits up to adult XXL. If you have any concerns about joining, please don't hesitate to get in touch. 

The hike will be moderate and will require a fair level of fitness but will also be accessible. The walk will be at a leisurely pace and will be marked/pathed or with steps but will have some level of elevation. There will be no element of scrambling. Our events are created to be accessible to all levels if deemed there is no health and safety risk. The health and safety of our clients has to be our number one priority. If you are unsure if this is right for you or you have a health implication or injury that may prohibit you from participating, please contact us, we'd be happy to discuss your needs. 

We will be staying in shared cabins that offer a comfortable and rustic experience. Each cabin is equipped with basic amenities, including beds, linens, and shared on-site bathrooms and kitchen facilities. 

The weekend will start on Saturday around lunchtime where we will meet for lunch and get to know your group before we had out for an afternoon hike. After this we will head out for dinner or you will also have the option to go back and use the shared kitchen facilities at the accommodation. We'll head for a light outdoor stretch if the evening permits with some yoga and we'll finish the evening around a campfire at the site. 

On Sunday morning we'll be heading to Coniston for our Canyoning adventure and we'll finish the day with a pub drink or lunch for those that want to before we say our goodbyes. 

Meals won't be included over this weekend. We will meet for lunch for those that want to eat out before the wakesurf (not mandatory). We also have plans to eat out on Saturday evening however, there are shared kitchen facilities at the camping pods for those that wish to bring and cook their own food. 

Same goes for breakfast. Please bring or buy anything you would like for breakfast, you can use the kitchen facilities with fridge etc to store food or bring any camping equipment if you'd prefer to cook out in nature!

Detailed directions and transportation options will be sent upon registration or closer to the event. Carpooling is encouraged, and we can assist in arranging shared rides if notified in advance. 

Cancellations made more than 30 days before the retreat start date will receive a full refund, minus a 20% deposit payment. Cancellations made within 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of the event.

In the unlikely event that Active Odyssey must cancel the event due to circumstances out of their control i.e. weather or otherwise, if there is a date change you will be offered the option of moving your booking to the new date, booking another event around the same value or receiving a full refund, less 10% deposit will be issued in the circumstance that none of these options are viable. 

Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend the event but, other than that, all ages are welcome (and encouraged).

Safety is our top priority. All activities are conducted under the supervision of certified instructors. We provide all necessary safety equipment for canyoning, and participants are briefed on safety protocols for all activities.
